IWC has been developing and building pilot watches for many decades. Once inspired by cockpit instruments, they are now considered robust, precise and everyday wristwatches. The unmistakable look makes the IWC pilot's watches a popular “tool watch”.
The new IWC Pilot's Watch has a case diameter of 41 mm and is made of stainless steel. The watch is equipped with the reliable and durable IWC Manufaktur automatic winding chronograph movement caliber 69385. The manufacture caliber is produced in Switzerland and has a power reserve of approximately 46 hours. The sapphire crystal display back provides a view of the sophisticated chronograph movement with column wheel. The watch's features include the hour, minute and second stop function and the day-date display at 3 o'clock. The timepiece is waterproof with a water resistance of 10BAR and the crown is screw-down.
The IWC watch is available in four versions: The IW388102 has a blue dial with rhodium-plated hands and a sporty stainless steel bracelet. The IW388101 also has a blue dial and a matching blue calfskin strap with light contrast stitching. The watch is also available with a shiny green dial on either a stainless steel bracelet, reference IW388104 or with a brown leather strap with light contrast stitching, reference IW388103. The leather straps are delivered in the standard size. Alternatively, the bracelets are also available in sizes XS and XL. The leather straps and the steel straps can be changed individually without tools using the so-called IWC quick-change system “EasX-Change”. IWC offers leather straps and rubber straps in different colors and the watch can be personalized. The stainless steel bracelets have a fine adjustment system and a new, slim shape. The leather straps have a pin buckle and the steel straps have a folding clasp.
Black is beautiful
True to the motto, the IWC Pilot's Watch Chronograph 41 Top Gun Ceratanium IW388106 is completely black. The case, the crown and the pushers are made of Ceratanium, a material specially developed and patented by IWC. IWC succeeds in skilfully combining the properties of titanium, which is light and break-resistant, and hard, scratch-resistant ceramic. In a complex process, the components are given the unique matt black, metallic color and the beneficial properties. The dial is black and the black hands have a muted white print and lume. The sapphire crystal back in tinted black completes the black design.
