Mission to Moon, the new Omega Moonwatch reference 310.30.42.50.04.001

In the 4th generation of the Speedmaster, the first watch to have been on the moon, Omega launches the new Moonwatch, with accents and references to a commander's spacesuit and the "Alaska I" prototypes from1969.

Properties and materials

The 42 mm asymmetrical case, typical of the Moonwatch, is made from 316L brushed and polished Stainless Steel. The bracelet is also made of this robust and hard-wearing material, which of course has the comfort adjustment on the folding clasp. The black bezel is made of aluminium thanks to a special anodising process used by Omega. This process ensures that the bezel is more resistant and lasts twice as long.

The Omega Moonwatch reference 310.30.42.50.04.001 is powered by the Omega hand-wound calibre 3861 with a power reserve of up to 50 hours. This calibre also powers the central chronometer function with small seconds, 30-minute counter and 12-hour counter. It is the perfect companion for adventurers on land, in the air and in space, but it is better to take it off when on water with up to 5 bar.

Premiere in the look

The inspiration and the first premiere in its look were provided by the white spacesuit of a commander and the prototype "Alaska I". The Moonwatch 310.30.42.50.04.001 was thus given a white dial for the first time. The second première and in keeping with the inspiration of the white spacesuit are the red accents that reflect the red stripes of the suit. These red accents can be found in the "Speedmaster" lettering on the dial and in the tip of the second hand. The stepped and white lacquered dial features the applied Omega logo, indices and hands in moonwatch style. The dial is protected by a sapphire crystal, which was also used for the case back. A notable feature of the Moonwatch is the famous dot above the 90 on the bezel ring.
