Geneva-based luxury watch manufacturer Rolex also came up with something special this year for the Air King model series developed for aviation. For a long time there was speculation in advance about what would happen to the Air King. Now there is certainty and watch fans can look forward to a revised Air King in 40 mm. What is particularly striking is the crown protection, which has now been added. Smaller innovations can also be seen on the dial of the new Air King reference 126900.
The COSC certified chronometer
The caliber of the new Rolex Air King reference 126900 is the 3230. The associated functions include the display of the central seconds as well as the minutes and hours. It is entirely designed and manufactured by Rolex and is characterized by its reliability in terms of performance. Particularly suitable for air traffic, the watch has an accuracy of +/- 2 seconds per day. The new Air King also has a power reserve of up to 70 hours, so if the watch is not moved, accuracy is guaranteed for as long as it is.
What awaits you visually
The following aspects should be mentioned about the changes to the dial of the Rolex Air King reference 126900 mentioned in detail. On the one hand, the numbers 3, 6 and 9 were enlarged. Of course, in collaboration with the common long-lasting luminous material, this ensures improved readability even in difficult lighting conditions. On the other hand, the much less noticeable aspect is that the number 5 on the dial has been expanded to include 0. The water resistance of up to 10 bar remains known thanks to the two seals used. The Air King is only available on the Oyster bracelet.
