The “Travel Time” chronograph is made of stainless steel and is therefore one of the few technically sophisticated models available in this material. The watch has an exceptional, stylish blue dial with a “sunray” decor and black running along the edge. The dial has a horizontal relief embossing and the gold indices have a luminous coating.
The sapphire crystal back provides a view of the heart of the watch: the Patek manufacture caliber CH 28-520 C FUS. It is of course a mechanical movement with automatic winding. This movement includes three sophisticated and useful functions: the flyback function, the "Travel Time" function with two time zones and two central hour hands and the date function at 12 o'clock, which is linked to the local time. There is an hour display for local and home time. The day and night display for local and home time is displayed using a window. The caliber has a power reserve of approximately 45 to 55 hours and consists of 370 individual parts. The central rotor is made of fine 21K gold. The crown is screwed and the luxury watch is waterproof up to 12 bar. The case diameter of 40.5 mm is very attractive and fits any wrist. The 5990/1A is equipped with a high-quality stainless steel bracelet with a new, patented and extendable folding clasp. The watch is the perfect everyday and travel companion.
Patek Philippe produces very complex timepieces in small quantities with long production times. The imperative is quality rather than quantity. The watches are highly sought after worldwide and the demand far exceeds the availability of watches. Due to supply and demand, prices on the open market therefore differ greatly from list prices.
