The Panerai Luminor has been a successful and famous model from the traditional Italian company since the 1940s. Panerai has now launched the Luminor with a new case diameter of 40 mm, called “Luminor Quaranta”. The case size is celebrating a relaunch as it was already part of history. The case diameter of 40 mm is an attractive size that can also be worn by women, replacing the smallest Luminor Marina at 42 mm. The watch retains its distinctive character through the cushion-shaped case, crown protection bridge, polished bezel and solid lugs.
The timepiece is available in three dial versions, a matt white dial with reference PAM01371, a matt black dial with reference PAM01372 and a blue sunray dial with reference PAM01370. The numerals are Arabic and fluorescent, with hour markers. The date display can be found at 3 o'clock and the small seconds at 9 o'clock. All three variants can be purchased with a sporty, elegant alligator leather with a pin buckle. The Luminor Quaranta in white has a black leather strap as an expressive contrast. There is a dark blue leather strap to match the blue version and a black leather strap to match the black version. A matching calfskin strap is also included. The straps can be changed effortlessly and easily using the quick-change system and give the watch a new look.
The Luminor Quaranta is powered by the proven Panerai caliber P900 and has a multi-day power reserve of 72 hours. The movement has a barrel and 171 components. The caliber gives the watch a slim appearance with a height of 4.2 mm. The timepiece is made of satin-finished AISI 316L stainless steel, the bezel is polished and the closed case back is also made of satin-finished steel. With a water resistance of 10BAR, the watch is, as usual from Panerai, waterproof, durable and robust. The new Panerai Luminor Quaranta perfectly complements the Luminor Marina collection with new features while retaining its unique recognition value.
