To complete the trilogy, Omega is now releasing “White Side of the Moon”. For this model, it was not the view from space that was decisive, but rather the moon's luminosity was viewed from the earth and thus serves as inspiration. This is clearly highlighted by the white ceramic, which is part of the 44.25 mm diameter case and bezel. The ceramic is polished and therefore perfectly imitates the shine of the moon shining at night. Although the dial is also made of white ceramic, the time can be clearly read thanks to the black-framed indices. The highlight is the white gold hands, with the tip of the chronograph seconds hand in red, as well as the “Speedmaster” lettering. The bezel expresses the extraordinary brilliance of this special piece as it can optionally be purchased with a diamond setting.
The interior of this great piece is also completely convincing. It is equipped with Omega's caliber 9300, which is characterized by an automatic chronograph movement. It also contains complications in the form of a date display, a chronometer and a small seconds. This enormous art of watchmaking does not remain hidden from its wearer, as the transparent case back allows a view of the movement.
Overall, this innovation from Baselworld 2015 is a real eye-catcher. It combines a certain sporty elegance with a very striking look, as a completely white watch is of course a highlight that is not commonplace.
