The presidential watch par excellence - The new Rolex Day-Date 36 128238

Whether it's because of the presidential bracelet or because the watch was increasingly seen on the wrists of heads of state and presidents after it was released, the Rolex Day-Date has acquired the nickname "Rolex President" over time.

Whether it's because of the presidential bracelet or because the watch was increasingly seen on the wrists of heads of state and presidents after it was released, the Rolex Day-Date has acquired the nickname "Rolex President" over time. The presidential bracelet was developed specifically for the Rolex Day-Date in 1956. Like the watch collection, the bracelet is only available in solid gold with a hidden Crownclasp folding clasp.

Day-Date remains Day-Date

The new Rolex Day-Date 36 128238 has an 18 carat yellow gold case. Likewise, the fluted bezel and the presidential bracelet are made of 18 carat yellow gold. The successor to the 118238 shines with new dial colors. Some models have of course been further enhanced with diamonds as indices. Not only has the watch been given new dial colors, it has also been fitted with the new generation in-house caliber 3255. The Rolex Day-Date 36 now has a power reserve of up to 70 hours. And of course, thanks to the Rolex screw-down winding crown, it is even waterproof up to 10 bar. The special thing about the Day-Date, as the name suggests, is, in addition to the typical Rolex date display, the additional viewing window at 12 o'clock, on which the day of the week is displayed. This has been adapted to the curve of the case.

Elegant dials for an elegant watch

When it comes to dial colors you are spoiled for choice. Two champagne dials are available. One with Chromalight indices and one with diamonds as indices. Then there is the bright mother-of-pearl dial. No two mother-of-pearl are the same, so each dial is unique. Diamonds are the indices on this one too. The Dark Gray version also has diamonds. New to the Rolex Day-Date 36 128238 is the green ombré dial. The turquoise dial is quite unusual. Roman numerals are attached here. The numbers are made of diamonds set in 18 carat yellow gold. On all diamond dials of the Rolex Day-Date 128238, the diamonds at the six and nine o'clock positions are made of diamond baguettes.
