Zenith was the first watch manufacturer to introduce this automatic chronograph movement to the watch world in 1969. It was the world's first automatic caliber for chronographs with a centrally designed oscillating weight.

The El Primero 4047B movement works inside the circular casing. It can be seen through an opening in the dial. Like all calibers from the company's workshops, it sets the highest standards in terms of accuracy and precision.

    It drives the hour and minute hands from the center. The 30 minute counter is located at 3 o'clock. The moon and sun phase display is at 6 o'clock, the small seconds is at 9 o'clock and the large date is at 2 o'clock.
